French Jacquard tea towel by Tissage Moutet "Red Balloon"

"Red Balloon" motif is featured on French jacquard tea towel from Southwestern France. Made of 100% cotton, it measures 20" wide x 28" tall (50 cm x 70 cm) and is Chartreuse green and black with an embroidered red ballon. Includes the expression: "Il faut croire en ses rêves" or "Believe in your Dreams." This design is by textile artist Hèlène Druvert. Since 1919, Tissage Moutet has operated their weaving studio which is now headed by the fifth generation, Benjamin Moutet. 

The Basque fabric tradition dates back to the Middle Ages when Basque farmers began weaving sun-protecting capes called Saial to protect their cows. This high-quality fabric will not shrink and yarn-dyed colors remain vibrant after years of use. Machine wash and dry.
